In 2010, when I was sitting in the plastic surgeon's office considering what size breast implants I wanted one question that never crossed my mind to ask was...
"What are breast implants really made of?"
I mean, silicone, right?
Or Saline, as in salt water...
So why ask? I know what they are made of, don't I?
No, I definitely did not know, and my plastic surgeon certainly didn't take the time to discuss the fact that on average, both Saline and Silicone implants actually contain between 40 and 80 different chemicals and heavy metals depending on the brand.
Why would this have been important to know?
Well because heavy metals are neurotoxins, which means your brain and central nervous system become particularly vulnerable to their negative effects. When exposed to heavy metals for long periods of time such as from breast implants, these metals can actually build up in your fatty tissues and bones, and when they do that, they push out important minerals your body actually needs in order to work which can lead to a whole host of health problems.
For example, metals like lead, fluoride, and aluminum can bump out calcium from its usual places and make your bones weak.
Heavy metals can also really mess up your digestion, change how your hormones and glands work, and even do serious damage to vital organs like your brain, bones, liver, kidneys, and heart, impacting how these organs function and leading to serious illnesses and even death.
So which heavy metals are you being exposed to from the inside out?
Let's find out!
Below you will find a list chemicals and heavy metals that are used in making or contained inside the currently FDA-approved breast implants from different popular manufacturers such as Allergan, Mentor, Ideal, and Sientra. These lists come directly from the manufacturers and the FDA's Safety and Effectiveness Data.

Looking for even MORE proof Breast Implants are extremely dangerous?
Dr. Giangiacomo Beretta, a researcher from the University of Milan, did some extensive research on PIP implants (Poly Implant Prothèse which was a French company founded in 1991 that produced silicone gel breast implants) and his research showed the following chemicals where also found:

“Conversely, the total amount of the major polycylodimethyl- siloxane species (D4–D7 series), released at T = 37 ◦ C by the PIP gel and elastomeric shells, was around 3x higher than that released by the approved implant, highlighting the higher potential of PIP silicone to release these species by simple passive diffusion mediated by their evaporation at physiological temperature.” - Dr. Giangiacomo Beretta
To put it simply, what he's saying is when they warmed up the implants to around 37 degrees Celsius (which is around body temperature), the PIP silicone released about three times more of these tiny silicone molecules than the approved implant did.
This means that the PIP silicone has a three times higher chance of letting the chemicals and heavy metals from inside the implant leak out of the implant just by being warm, while the approved implant doesn't let out as many.
I want to point out something REALLY IMPORTANT here... his findings PROVE that all implants leak the internal contents of the implants when heated up to BODY TEMPERATURE!
So we know these things are made with an enormous amount of toxic chemicals and heavy metals AND we know that the contents held inside the implant shell will in fact make its way out of the implants into our bodies once the implant is heated up to body temperature AND we are told these things are safe to put into our bodies...
I can't be the only one who see's the problem with this...

Other insane chemicals that have been found in various brands of both saline and silicone breast implants over the years include but are not limited to:
Formaldehyde (yes... like they use on dead bodies)
Printer Ink (Umm why?)
Nail Polish Remover (WTF?)
For a complete breakdown of all the chemicals and symptoms they cause read this:
http://mybreastimplants.org/PDF/implants_toxic_chemicals.pdf
When I read the contents of the link above my heart literally sank into my stomach because it not only outlines the very real risk of death each of these ingredients can pose to our health, more than one of these ingredients has been linked to birth defects. So many women are fighting "the science" that says their babies birth defects weren't caused by their breast implants but the proof that the ingredients contained inside said implants can do exactly that is RIGHT THERE!
It's absolutely undeniable that these chemicals and heavy metals are extremely dangerous so it's no surprise that breast implant manufacturers go to great lengths to make this information REALLY hard to find. The real surprise (to me anyway) is that these surgeons KNOW these products are dangerous and yet they are still putting in hundreds of thousands of them every year with exactly ZERO interest in slowing down.
